Hi Lani. Welcome to Beyond War. We are starting an eight-week Study Series beginning April 23, meeting on Thursdays from 7-9 PM. If you are interested or have questions, please contact me at hagenlm@yahoo.com or 344-7630. I am one of the faclitators of this Study Series.

Thanks Lani.

Leonora Perron will be sending out a request to Beyond War members for more fiction titles for our bibliography. If there is anything to talk about with the fiction list, we can do it on Monday also.

The book club meets at Dorothy Sampson's house house, 977 Lariat Drive, at 7:00 p.m. These are her directions:
Lariat Drive is off Oakway Rd. between Coburg Rd. and Cal Young Rd.

From Oakway Rd., turn Right onto Lariat Drive.
At fork in the road, veer right. (Lariat Drive is a circle street)
977 is the 2nd house on the left.

If you send me your email address we can add you to the mailing list for the discussions.

Ah, what an offer. I'm attaching the fiction list as it stands, just a list. I'll also attach the annotated nonfiction list which is what we would ultimately like to create for the fiction list. Tell me what you think. On the spreadsheet, category 1=War is obsolete, 2=We are one, 3=The means are the ends in the making.

The Book Club meets next on Monday evening April 6 with "Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution--and How It Can Renew America" by Thomas L. Friedman. We hoped it might fit into the "We are one" category.

Hi Lani,

Your offer to help with the Library Project is greatly appreciated. Do you prefer to read fiction or nonfiction? We have a Book Club going in Eugene that is discussing the nonfiction books we are putting in our core list and then creating discussion questions for other book discussion groups to use. You are invited to join us.

We have also started generating a fiction list and need book suggestions, especially in the categories of "We are one" and "The means are the ends in the making." We also need someone to put the list in order with publisher, date, etc. plus a short synopsis.

Does any of this interest you?

Welcome to BW. We're trying to decide when and what night to start the next study series. What evenings might you be available? (630 or 7 until 830 or 9). It's great toget into that, gives you a good background for working with BW. Did Anne Millhollen get back to you about the Library Project? Currenty I'm working on getting a film series started with the UO.
