Our Ventura team will meet on

We have much to report and discuss! The annual meeting of Beyond War just took place March 6-8 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Bob Dodge and Mary Olson attended and will report on the meeting.

We have the Beyond War Library Display scheduled for H.P. Wright Library for April and E. P. Foster library for May. Coordinating with the library display at H.P. Wright, we will screen the film The Power of Forgiveness (which is part of the Beyond War Core Curriculum) at H.P. Wright library on Tuesday, April 21. This will constitute our Beyond War team meeting for April.

We will begin a new Beyond War Study Series on Wednesday evenings (the first and third of the month). If you have been waiting for an opportunity to participate in the Study Series, here it is! The materials have been revised, so you may be interested in joining in one or more of the meetings even if you have already participated. For more details, please call Mary Olson (805) 223-1187. Ventura Beyond War team will meet this coming Tuesday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. However, there is a change of venue for this meeting -- we will meet at Jenny Hughes' house. Please call Jenny for directions. Her phone number is: 658-8079.

Jenny and I have been working on getting the Beyond War Library Display project into the libraries in Ventura. We have reserved the display cases at H.P. Wright Library for the month of April and E.P. Foster Library for the month of May for the Beyond War Library Display.
There are five films in the Core Collection for Building a World Beyond War, and we thought that, in connection with the display, we would screen one of those films at each library.
We would also like to donate to the library copies of those books and films in the core curriculum which are not already in their collection.

This is Mary Olson from the Ventura Beyond War Team.
I attempted to leave you a message here before, but I'm not sure it got through.

Anyway, Ventura Beyond War members are invited to my house for the Quarterly conference call this Sunday, January 18. My phone # is (805) 643-8048
Also, our regular team meeting is the third Tuesday of the month (which is the information I tried to leave in my previous message)-- however, this month that is Inauguration Day, so the meeting date has been moved to the following Tuesday, January 27. We meet at the First United Methodist Church, 1338 E. Santa Clara, Ventura -- it's right next to Cabrillo Middle School -- at 7 pm. There are others who are interested in the Library Display project as well. I hope to see you soon!

My wife, Sally, and I are happy to join the Beyond War Ventura team. We are new to Beyond War. Current plans are to complete the study series, and then work to become qualified presenters. We would be interested in a Beyond War study group. Currently involved in the Library Display project, reviewing books and bibliography suggestions at present. We will support the effort to get the Beyond War Library Display in our local libraries. Sally and I are glad to be part of the Beyond War team, look forward to meeting other members and supporting efforts in the Ventura County area.
