Beyond War

Dear friends,

I spent some time talking with Steve Shankman who is the US UNESCO chair right here in Eugene, OR and is hosting an international conferences of Chairs right here in Eugene, OR next May 9 through 12 , I believe. This is another amazing network that we fold right into and must find a way to make a relationship of good will with. Also, if you read THE SUN - I recommend the article called, The Ordinary Decency of the Heart by Andrew Lawler in the May 2008 issue - it is about the intersection of mysticism and social activism and how the revolution of our world is precisely going to be through these networks of grace.

Thanks, Martin, for getting us on line.

Best,
Ann

Ann,
Thanks for the reference to The Sun artucle -- interview with Andrew Harvey. It's terrific, especially about the shadow of the mystic wanting to be always in the light and not in this world; and the shadow of the activist spewing blame and anger -- and how when they are balanced in sacred activism the shadows cancel out, and the best qualities of each are manifest.

Also, I look forward to our talking about coordinating with the UNESCO chairperson Steve.
