Beyond War

Help us put the Beyond War DVD -- Building A World Beyond War: A Roadmap for Citizens -- into the hands of public figures who we believe are open to our ideas and might find this a helpful resource in their work.

Make a separate "reply" entry below for each person you think we should try to reach. Anyone who has a good way to reach that person can then reply to that reply entry with their ideas and information about how to reach them.

We will provide a personal letter from our Executive Director addressed to that person with a copy of the DVD. Let's see how many friendly public figures we can reach together with this great video!

Pope Benedict XVI
Sally & Phil Hanna hand-delivered a copy of the DVD and letter to the Pope when they visited him in Rome.
So, he and his staff now have a copy of the DVD. Next!

Ted Turner: Founder of CNN and noted supporter of the UN, nuclear disarmament, and global good will.
Do you know this person? How do we reach him next?

My nephew's wife is a VP at CNN where Turner was CEO. She knows him. Shall I ask her how to reach him or ask if she will do it herself?? Martin Jones

Yes! Let her tell us which is the better approach. Either way, it sounds like a great connection. I look forward to writing that letter to Ted!

Dennis Kosinnich (sp?)

It is Kucinich. Dennis is the Congressman from Ohio's 10th District and is very much in support of many Beyond War concepts. Kucinich can be a great help to Beyond War. His wife, Elizabeth, would also be a great help to the Beyond War movement. I second the suggestion of Dennis Kucinich to receive a copy of the DVD.

Actually, I know Dennis and Elizabeth. So, unless someone else knows them better, I can go ahead and send it to them. Although, it would be great to have someone deliver it in person instead.

Please give the DVD to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton

"The Elders" are group of distinguished leaders commited to making the world a better place. On the front page of their website (http://www.theelders.org/welcome), Bishop Desmond Tutu has a statement that in part says the Elders will endeavor to support those people who are committed to making our world a better place. President Jimmy Carter is a member of this group. I suggest we get the Beyond War DVD to Jimmy Carter, and he in turn may pass it on to all of The Elders. If this were to happen, it would advance the message of Beyond War significantly.

If no one else on the Beyond War team has a better connection to pass the Beyond War letter and DVD to President Carter, then I will do it by sending them to him in care of the Carter Center. Please advise if I should proceed with this approach. If so, how do I get a copy of the personal letter from our Executive Director addressed to President Carter and a copy of the DVD?

Dan, thanks! We'll probably send that to him next week if no one else comes forward with a personal connection to him. We might open up entries for others in The Elders group too?

Bob Dodge, a member of our Board, has met some of The Elders andy may have given DVDs to them. Bob, can you tell us which ones you have given the DVD to?
