Each One of Us Matters

The Eugene City of Peace group will sponsor an event celebrating and enhancing what people are already doing to support a culture of peace in Eugene.

By getting people involved in dialogue, immersed in thoughts of creating a solution, we are promoting a living laboratory of democratic learning and civic engagement. We do not claim to have, nor do we present, a solution. We intend to avoid institutional or political answers, but instead focus on the process of discovering the needs that ordinary people have, the strengths they have for working together, and the ways in which they can collaborate to create a city that works for everyone.

Our intention is to build a common story, a new definition and understanding of what's valued. We believe a new social norm of peace-building can become so commonplace and empowering that actions to manifest a more peaceful city will flow naturally.
